My first connection

"There were lots of colours and one of them was called red. that's the one you are starting to see, your friend has red hair..." I can connect to what the giver is saying because I have friends with red hair and it helped me visualize how Jonas might have seen the colour red. I know that the colour red can be very bright so I can sort of see how bright it could have been. This helps me visualize the scene. Quote from page #94.

My second connection

"Forgive me" this is what the giver said after he had just given the experience of war. I can relate to this because even though I have not been in a war there are some war that are going on now like in Ukraine where Russia is trying to take back parts of Ukraine. Knowing about war and seeing it happen in history videos and hearing about it on the news for example really helped me imagine how Jonas would have felt and how it could've looked on the battle field. It also helped me understand why the giver would have sorry for Jonas after giving him the memory.

My third connection

When Jonas started getting all this new information on the outside world (or other ways of life). I thought it was kinda like the news or newspaper or even this blog because it keeps receiving new information on what has happened in or around the world. It helped me understand how Jonas was learning about the these new thing that he has never seen or heard of before.
