Its not FAIR. Jonas says on page 97. This shows how He is now realizing the world He's living in is not fair no choice on what happens.

They know nothing. Says the giver showing his frustration with jonas the same way jonas is frustrated with others.

'The sunburn is not so bad'. this show that jonas is getting better at handling pain.

jonas can now see all the colors. this line says that he can now see all the colors but it also shows why jonas is getting more and more frustrated with the people around him.

Jonas says thing could be different. This helps  predict the course of the story he is shut down by the giver but still the thought lingers.
